Police officer Jonel Nuezca has requested for police protection to his family after a gruesome murder he committed, the Central Luzon police chief disclosed Thursday.

In an interview, Police Brigadier General Valeriano De Leon said Nuezca seeks for his family's protection while he is detained and he wants help with regards to his "service."

He admitted that he got irked with the suspect's request.

"'Yung kaligtasan ng pamilya at saka 'yung kanyang serbisyo kaya medyo nagalit ako nang kaunting-kaunti lang dahil alam mo 'yung ginawa niya tapos bibigyan ko raw ng chance? So kaya sabi ko, paano ako tutulong?" De Leon said.

"That is his plead na nagmamakaawa para tulungan so it's a very general statement na tulungan kasi alam naman niyang mapipiit na siya sa kulungan at saka 'yung sa pamilya niya," De Leon added.

De Leon said he told Nuezca that many are still irated with him for killing unarmed neighbors namely Sonya Gregorio, 52, and Frank Anthony Gregorio, 25.

"Let him realize that mayroon kang ginawa, you should be answerable to your actions," De Leon said. "Lahat ng tao nagagalit sayo."

Meanwhile, De Leon said authorities will help Nuezca's family by providing intervention  program after the incident. This, will also help to bridge their communication with the murderer.

"Marami, siyempre kuwan din, how also to communicate itong mag-aama kasi wala na they are left in the air," De Leon said.

In broad daylight, Nuezca, with administrative and criminal charges in the past, shot the Gregorios after a verbal tussle on Sunday.

Hours after the shooting incident, Nuezca surrendered to Rosales Police Station.

De Leon said Nuezca, a native of Urdaneta, had a brother in Rosales so he decided to surrender there.

Nuezca has been indicted with two murder cases.

De Leon said Nuezca remains at the Paniqui Municipal Police Station pending a court order regarding his custody.
