Health Secretary Francisco Duque III on Wednesday admitted there are missteps in the Philippines' coronavirus response.

In a press briefing for DOH year-end report, Duque added that such mistakes were used to improve the pandemic response measures.

“Tama ho.

The health chief made the statement when asked for his assessment on COVID-19 response as well as the "lapses" that needs to be improved by 2021.

Asked to rate from 1 to 10 (10 being the highest) DOH's response to the pandemic, Duque gave a “9 to 10” score.

“I would give them 9 to 10 in terms of great effort, sincerity to contribute to national government pandemic response,” he said.

Earlier, lawmakers urged Duque to step down from his post due to his alleged failure to lead the  government's response against the infectious disease.
