“Dapat pasagasaan kayo ng eroplano!” —this is what Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go said to travel ban and quarantine procedure violators coming from countries with the new coronavirus variant.

Huwag niyo unahin ang sarili ninyo, unahin niyo ang kapakanan ng nakararami,” Go said on Monday.

The temporary travel ban will cover 21 countries with recorded cases of the new coronavirus variant and will be in effect until January 15.

However, Filipinos arriving from countries included in the travel ban will still be allowed to enter the country but they will have to undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine even if they have a negative RT-PCR test result.

Bureau of Immigration will also ban travelers who had travel history included in the travel ban in the last two weeks despite coming from a different point of origin.
