The Office of the Vice President said Friday it is too early
for politicking and thinking for a potential candidacy for 2022 national
elections.
The OVP made the remark as the latest survey from Pulse Asia
showed Vice President Leni Robredo ranking 6th for potential 2022
presidentiables.
Spokesman Barry
Gutierrez said the OVP is not "paying such mind" on the early survey
results since polls are "a long way away."
“Right, now the VP is still focused on working to help our
Filipinos get past the crisis of COVID-19, and recover from the calamities of
the past few months,” he said in a statement.
“Masyado pang maaga para sa pamumulitika at
pakikipag-gitgitan para sa eleksyon,” Gutierrez added.
Pulse Asia results showed that presidential daughter and
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio ranked first as one of the contenders of
the nation's top office, with a 24% supporter rating.
Duterte was followed by Former Senator Bongbong Marcos and
Senator Grace Poe, both having 14% rating.
Robredo only came sixth in the list, with an 8% rating.
