Malacañang said Monday there is no need for President Rodrigo Duterte to get publicized for his works.

Roque’s remarks came after Duterte deferred his weekly national address last week. The next day, there are some speculations regarding Duterte’s bad health prompting his former aide and nor Senator Christopher “Bong” Go to post several photos on social media showing the President jogging, playing a round of golf, and riding a three-wheeled motorcycle.

Moreover, Roque said the Chief Executive is still on top of the situation despite absence from the public eye.

“The President made the decisions he needed to make, such as the quarantine classification in Metro Manila and nearby provinces. He has supervision on the vaccination program, to ensure its rollout as soon as possible.

The President has no scheduled outside events since he personally welcomed the one million procured COVID-19 doses developed by China-based Sinovac Biotech.

As of Monday, April 12, the Department of Health (DOH) recorded 876,225 total COVID-19 infections, 703,625 recoveries, 15,149 deaths, and 157,451 active cases.
