President Rodrigo Duterte accused former Secretary of Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Manuel " Mar " Araneta Roxas II and former Justice Secretary Leila de Lima for corrupting millions to billions of unliquidated funds during their terms, Tuesday.
Duterte talked about the corruption allegations from the reports of Commission on Audit (COA) during Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino III administration.
The agencies that Duterte mentioned are the Department of Justice under Senator Leila de Lima, and the DILG headed by Roxas.
During the Aquino administration, COA discovered ₱617.44 million worth of unliquidated funds advances under the DOJ in 2013.
Duterte said that the COA flagged over P7.040 billion worth of unliquidated cash transfers, which were supposedly for different projects wayback 2014 in DILG.
"Ito unliquidated cash advances. Ito perang kinuha talaga. Eh itong kay Duque magbili eh. Ito, nag-cash advance. Nagbali," Duterte claimed.
Duterte's accusation against Roxas and De Lima arose while defending Health Secretary Francisco Duque III in his weekly address.
