Government officials are investigating a possible "vaccination sabotage" of its mass immunization campaign against COVID-19.

This happened after large crowds gathered at various vaccination sites, causing havoc a day before Metro Manila was placed under the toughest lockdown.

During the Laging Handa briefing, Vince Dizon, deputy chief implementer of the National Task Force (NTF), stated that they obtained information concerning a potential plot to derail the immunization program.

"We received unverified reports, which we need to investigate, that there are bad elements that deliberately sabotaged the vaccination sites, especially those in malls in Las Piñas, Antipolo, Manila and other areas," Dizon said Carlito Galvez Jr., chief implementer of the NTF.

"This will be investigated by the (NTF) under the leadership of Secretary Galvez and with the help of the DILG (Department of the Interior and Local Government)," he added.

Dizon warned the public not to believe such statements, which he claimed were made to stir up unrest and ensure that the government's vaccine campaign would fail.
