Former University of the Philippines stalwart Juan Gomez-De Liano and his Japan B-League team Tokyo Z Earth Friends have officially come to terms with the release of the 22-year old guard, Tuesday.

The Division 2 squad also added that the player’s cancellation of contract was a mutual agreement and that discussions within the team and players were adhered to prior to the decision.

“In addition, we will inform you that it will be announced on the free negotiation player list on January 18th (Tuesday) today,” the team stated in a Japanese press release.

De Liano was last seen wearing a Tokyo Z uniform on December 5, after which he was relegated to the health and safety protocols and let go for good.

The six-foot-one Filipino had logged just 17 games on close to 17 minutes of action while averaging an underwhelming 5.3 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per contest.
