The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that rain is likely in many parts of the country because of a low pressure area (LPA) and southwest monsoon.

As of 3:00 pm on July 28, the LPA was located approximately 780 km north-northeast of Catarman, Northern Samar, or 635 km east of Aparri. It is also not expected to become a tropical storm soon.

The Bicol Region, parts of Aurora and Quezon, Northern Samar, Samar, and Eastern Samar will see cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms because of the LPA.

Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Zambales, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, and northern Palawan are expected to experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to habagat.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rain showers or thunderstorms.

Sea conditions will also be moderate, and there are no warnings for strong winds.

PAGASA told the public to be prepared in case of possible flash floods or landslides caused by the rainfall.

Residents in said areas are advised to stay updated with the latest weather information and take necessary precautions, especially in areas prone to flooding and landslides.
