She returned to the Philippines aboard a charted flight RP-C6188 accompanied by the Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos and Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police General Rommel Marbil.
A fugitive since May 2024, the dismissed mayor was apprehended by the Indonesian authorities in Tangerang City on Sept. 4 at midnight on suspicion of being an illegal immigrant.
Following her arrest, she was subsequently turned over to the Philippine authorities while in Indonesia, with Abalos confirming that she expressed concerns about threats to her life during their brief encounter in front of the media.
“Sec. [Abalos], patulong. May death threat po ako,” Guo said to Abalos.
In addition to the 87 money laundering charges filed against her and her associates, a warrant for her arrest was issued by the Capas, Tarlac Regional Trial Court Branch 109 on Sept. 5 for graft-related offenses.
The Senate of the Philippines also cited her in contempt for constantly snubbing hearings since May regarding her illegal POGO ties and identity theft issues.
