Hontiveros blasts Quiboloy for senate bid amid multiple crime charges

After filing his certificate of candidacy (COC) for the 2025 midterm election, Senator Risa Hontiveros strongly opposed Apollo Quiboloy's senatorial bid on Wednesday, October 9.

Senate Deputy Minority Leader Hontiveros, criticized how someone facing several criminal charges could qualify for a public position.
“Let us not elect lawbreakers as lawmakers,” Hontiveros remarked in her Facebook post.
The minority leader also added that everyone has the right to run for office, but she trusts the public has enough knowledge to not vote for Quiboloy.

However, Quibology is eligible to run for senate as per Comelec Chairman George Garcia. He will be running under the Workers and Peasants Party (WPP).
Hontiveros is also known to slam ex-Bamban, Tarlac City Mayor Alice Guo who has affiliations with the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO).
