In a statement on Nov. 5, the office of the lawmaker showed that the results were negative.
According to the drug test document shown by the office, the Hi-Precision Diagnostics Center requested the lawmaker’s hair sample from Omega Laboratories on Oct. 28 as his hair sample was collected on Oct. 23.
“All tests returned negative results, indicating that none of these substances were detected in Duterte’s system,” Duterte’s office said in the statement.
The sample was screened for Amphetamine, Methamphetamine, Cocaine/Metabolites, Opiates, Extended Opiates, Phencyclidine (PCP), THC Metabolite (Marijuana), and Benzodiazepines.
The office also said that the negative test results "reinforces Paolo Duterte’s claim of being drug-free amidst rumors and accusations surrounding political figures."
On Oct. 22, PBA Party-list Rep. Margarita “Migs” Nograles dared Duterte to undergo a drug test to “prove themselves.”
The dare happened after Vice President Sara Duterte urged all candidates for the 2025 midterm polls to undergo a drug test.
Representative Duterte also filed House Bill 10744, the random drug test will use hair follicle samples. If an individual tests positive, a confirmatory urine drug test will be conducted.
