Marcos inks legislation of new court branches in Philippine regions

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. signed the legislation of 11 court measures in nine regions on November 3.

These republic acts consist of provisions intended for municipal (MTC) and regional trial courts (RTC) in CALABARZON, Zamboanga Peninsula, Southern and Northern Mindanao, Eastern and Western Visayas, Negros Islands, Ilocos Region, and the National Capital Region (NCR), paving the way for more judicial establishments in the country.
Republic Act (RA) 12044 supplies 12 additional regional trial courts and a municipal trial court in Los Banos and Cabuyao, Laguna, while RA 12045 provides two new regional and municipal trial court branches in Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur.
In succession, RA 12046 will establish 10 regional trial courts and eight municipal trial court branches situated in Antipolo, Rizal, alongside RA 12047, to create additional regional trial courts in Samal City and Panabo City, Davao Del Norte.
RA 12048 will then assume its implementation of four regional trial and municipal trial courts in Ormoc City, Leyte, continuing to RA 12049 in supplication of two new regional trial courts in Tubod, Lanao Del Norte.
The president has also led the signature of RA 12050, authorizing the addition of two regional trial court branches in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, with RA 12051 providing two municipal trial courts in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.
Following this, RA 12052 will implement three new trial court branches, including two Metropolitan trial courts, in Navotas City, NCR; RA 12053 for the creation of three municipal trial courts in San Carlos City, Pangasinan; and RA 12054 for the establishment of two additional regional trial court branches in Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental.
The copies of Republic Acts 12056 and 12061 will also highlight the renovation of the Basilan General Hospital in Isabela City, Basilan, and a Marine Hatchery in Tabina, Zamboanga Del Sur.
The Republic Acts of the Philippines are signed and legalized to ensure the societal, environmental, and economic stability of the country. Its first official utilization can be traced back to July 4, 1946, when the first Congress of the Philippine Republic was officially recognized and established.
