“This partnership is a crucial step in ensuring that our teachers are equipped wit the tools to inspire lifelong learners and meet the demands of 21st-century education,” Education Secretary Sonny Angara expressed.

The RITE Program encompasses 13 priority projects designed to address existing gaps in teacher training through differentiated curricula and evidence-based practices.

The revised curriculum emphasizes system resilience, international benchmarks, and national assessments to better prepare future educators for the challenges they will encounter in the classroom.

“We are committed to reframing teacher education with innovative solutions that will directly impact the learning experiences of our students,” he stated.

Furthermore, DepEd has designated 34 universities as Centers of Excellence (COE), which will play a vital role in the implementation of the enhanced curriculum.

These institutions will collaborate with DepEd and the Teacher Education Council (TEC) to establish recognition systems for COEs and refine teacher education standards.

“This initiative will ensure that our pre-service teachers receive the highest quality training, leading to improved teaching outcomes in schools across the country,” added Angara.

By aligning teacher education with international standards, DepEd aims to address critical challenges within the Philippine education system, further enhancing the quality of learning for millions of Filipino students.
