The education sector secured the largest allocation in the 2025 GAA, reflecting the government’s commitment to improving the quality of education in the country and fulfilling the constitutional mandate that education must receive the highest budgetary priority.

DepEd intends to use the additional funding to support its key programs, including the DepEd Computerization Program (DCP), which aims to integrate information and communication technology into public schools.

In a statement released on January 1, 2025 at the DepEd Facebook page, the department emphasized the importance of supplementary funding to address gaps in resources and infrastructure in the education system.

The department highlighted the role of technology in enhancing the teaching-learning process in the announcement they made.

“We remain committed to providing quality education to every learner in the country,” DepEd in the aforementioned statement.

DepEd also stated its plans to explore various funding avenues to ensure the successful implementation of its programs.

The department encouraged stakeholders to collaborate and support its initiatives to achieve long-term improvements in the educational sector.
