The endorsement was announced on the last day of the campaign, Saturday, May 10, making both candidates guest senatorial bets under the PDP-Laban ticket.

“There is a need for more allies to protect the Vice President against impeachment,” said a resolution released on PDP Laban's official Facebook page.

PDP-Laban says it is “practical” to have the complete 12-person senatorial line-up.

The party recognizes Marcos and Villar's leadership and legislative service as aligned with PDP-Laban’s platform. Both names will be included in the party’s sample ballots.

Vice President Sara Duterte has also personally endorsed the two candidates.

In a statement last April 21, the vice president explained that both candidates “are united by a common vision” along with the 10 official members of the PDP Laban slate.

“This vision is solid enough to break through the walls of the existing political division in the country,” VP Sara said.

Last month, Imee Marcos parted ways with his brother's senatorial ticket, President Marcos, due to the administration's actions regarding Rodrigo Duterte's arrest that did not align with her principles.

PDP Laban is chaired by former president Rodrigo Duterte, with Robin Padilla as the current president.

The 2025 midterm elections will occur tomorrow, May 12.
