“Reality bites.”

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque had this to say on Monday in response to Vice President Leni Robredo’s remarks of “rude” officials could not accept the government’s shortcomings in coronavirus pandemic response.

Roque said reality bites when there is no acceptance that the government is successful in implementing programs, as well as the fight against COVID-19.

“I can only quote Winona Ryder— ‘Reality bites,’” Roque said in an online Palace briefing, referencing the 1994 film starring Ryder.

Reality bites is all I can say,” Roque added.

In her weekly radio show, Robredo cited the way the officials are defending the government’s programs.
