Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reiterated that the government should have followed their process in administering the donated Chinese COVID-19 vaccine to soldiers.

FDA Director-General Eric Domingo, accordingly, explained that if this was done, they could have issued a “special permit” for Sinopharm first.

"Halimbawa, mayroon talagang pangangailangan, there’s a situation where you need access to investigational products, you can ask for compassionate special permit," Domingo said.

He also added that this would give them a chance to “check the source, kung sino ang mag-iimport and we can monitor to whom they are given to and kung ano ang magiging outcome ng paggamit,” earlier on.

This statement came after Malacañang has reported the usage of such on the military alongside the members of the Presidential Security Group (PSG).
