The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) shall stand by the people during the upcoming COVID-19 vaccine deliveries in the country, President Rodrigo Duterte appealed on Monday.

In a pre-recorded address, Duterte emphasized that it should be followed for these vaccines are for Filipinos who purchase such.

“The credit goes to no one. Sa inyo ito, mga taong Pilipino, pera ninyo ito. So natural lang na kayong mga members ng [CPP] and the allied NPA, or whatever, kindly observe the rules of humanity,” told the president.

He, accordingly, called onto CPP to let these “be transported freely and safely” especially on far-flung areas.

“I am appealing to the [CPP], ‘yung pinaka-umbrella, I don’t consider ‘yung mga NDF, NDF pati NPA—the [CPP] must guarantee that the vaccines in the course of their being transported to areas where there are no city health officers or medical persons, na ‘wag ninyong galawin ang medisina,” Duterte plead.

Prior to this, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque has assured that the country is prepared to start the inoculation drive on February 15.

Vaccine companies, however, have yet to deliver the promised first batch of doses as of now.
