“That’s covered by privacy.”
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said this on Monday following his refusal to disclose his positive COVID-19 test result publicly.
Roque said that aside from the right to privacy, he is also entitled to a presumption of regularity of pronouncement as President Rodrigo Duterte’s spokesperson.
“Why can’t public officials such as the presidential spokesperson be entitled of presumption of regularity of pronouncement?” Roque told ANC.
Last week, Roque announced he tested positive for coronavirus but he was asymptomatic.
However, he refused to disclose his test result, adding he does not think it is important.
He also slammed rumors he is staying at a luxury hotel, announcing that he is quarantined in San Juan City two-star hotel.
“Being positive is not a badge of honor. I stayed in an isolation facility; would I do that if I was not positive?” Roque added.
