Jomayco Michael Tumuran,  the man from the viral video, failed to clinch the first exam in November 2020 hence when he finally passed, it felt surreal.

However, days prior to his second board exam, he admitted that he faced numerous adversities. His father was diagnosed with end-stage renal disease, which made his situation more complicated.

“3 days before the exam, I was anxious, feeling sick. Hindi ako makapagfocus sa pag-aaral. Compared sa first take, mas hindi ako prepared [on the second take],” Jomay said.

Jomay’s journey was not smooth sailing. He failed several classes back in college. His OFW father supported him financially but he also had to help by selling products to pay his tuition fees.

“Yung funds talaga ang problem. Kasi 5 kaming magkakapatid. Ayun pinasok ko yun,” he said.

Currently, Jomay is working as a general physician in a district hospital and has a clinic near their home.

There’s a perfect time for us, God will give us the perfect time for us talaga.”
