She graduated from Victoria University in Australia obtaining a degree in Business Management.

Paton strongly believes in the importance of education in a human being, especially of a child. In an interview, she said that she experienced studying in a public school in Aklan and she saw children not going to school because of poverty.

This pushed her to open up The Sinag Foundation and a library which aims to uplift the community by providing free access to books and other educational resources.

Prior to that event, Paton earned a spot in the Charity Gala which placed her among the Top 10 Model Finalists. She also won a Miss Photogenic special award before she advanced to Top 15.

During the Question and Answer portion, Paton was asked about one thing she needs to overcome.

She answered, "One thing that you need to overcome is fear with your confidence and the fear of being rejected. I myself have suffered a lack of confidence when I was younger, I wasted a lot of my time being stuck at home because I was afraid of going out of my comfort zone.

"And I would tell my younger self even that If I could go back in time to overcome this fear because you have no idea what's out there for you," she ended.

Before Miss World Philippines, Paton was crowned as the Miss Manila 2018, Miss Teen International in Bangkok, Thailand, and was hailed as the 1st Runner up during the Miss Teen Asia in Australia.
