In light of the Marcos administration’s focus on the agriculture sector, two international trade expositions, Livestock Philippines and Aquaculture Philippines, are set to take place on June 25–27 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

In a press conference on May 16 at Quezon City, Informa Markets Philippines country general manager Rungphech Chitanuwat emphasized the importance of these events for national development.

“The Philippines under the Bagong Pilipinas government of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has put the agriculture industry among its priorities, recognizing the potential to spur and support national economic growth in the near to long term”, he said.

The expositions are expected to host around 250 exhibitors and attract up to 10,000 visitors from over 30 countries, aiming to support the government’s agriculture initiatives on poultry, livestock, and aquaculture production and processing.

With its theme “Empowering Agri-Fishery Through Modern Technology and Innovation,” the event also recognizes the growth of the country’s livestock production, poultry, and aquaculture as noted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

The event will feature trade exhibitions and conferences on agri-fishery innovations and productions.

A forum on sustainable development and best practices, along with a recognition ceremony for outstanding contributors to the agriculture sector, is also scheduled to take place.

Despite a 2.2 percent drop in agriculture and fisheries production last year, according to the PSA, the event seeks to give hope to progress and modernization towards the economy and labor force.
