Teachers across the country have welcomed the implementation of Department of Education (DepEd) Order No. 006, s. 2025, citing improvements in teaching performance following its release on March 20.

The new DepEd Order is deemed effective as it ‘positively’ changes teachers’ and students’ perceptions of teaching and learning, respectively, the Department of Education (DepEd) announced on its government website.

Mas marami kaming oras para magbahagi ng best practices at makilahok sa team teaching,” Jenalyn Trance, an elementary teacher from Graciano Lopez Jaena Elementary School, said.

Moreover, Trance also shared that the extra time that they have is being put into workshops and training, aiming to broaden their horizons in their teaching profession.

57% of the workload is eliminated with the new DepEd Order, requiring only 5 of the 174 school forms, 31 forms for teacher ancillary tasks, and at least 39 forms for teaching-related assignments, depending on the teacher’s designation in accordance with DepEd Order No. 005, s. 2024.

Meanwhile, the Department of Education (DepEd) celebrated the success via a press release on its official website on June 3.

“We’re clearing the runway so teachers can fly.

Likewise, Angara emphasized that there is a ‘positive correlation between decreasing the teachers' workload and students’ learning status.’
