Gilas Pilipinas star Dwight Ramos is considering joining the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) in 2026, hinting at a possible homecoming during a Gilas press conference on July 7.

“Not this year. So, we’ll see. Maybe next year,” he clued as he was asked about nearing the PBA Draft, which would take place a month prior to the October 5 kick-off, with the ongoing Season 49 about to end,” the B-League star said.

As nothing is set in concrete in the Levanga Hokkaido star guard’s path, he is considering debuting in the PBA potentially as early as next year, subject to what best aligns with his professional athletic goals.

While the Levanga Hokkaido guard left the door open, he remained non-committal, noting that his career path could still shift.

Ramos recently picked up his player option to remain with Hokkaido for another season, signaling a continued commitment to the Japan B.League for the time being.

Back in 2021, Ramos expressed his vision to still play for the PBA with ABS-CBN.

"Just like the locals in Japan, they want to stay in Japan and play there. I think the same thing goes for us Filipinos," said Ramos.

"We're just hoping that the opportunity comes again, and after we're all done with our stints overseas, that we can come back and play in the PBA."

The 25-year-old Fil-Am has been a key member of Gilas Pilipinas since 2020 and remains one of the most promising Filipino talents abroad. Whether 2026 marks his return to the Philippine basketball scene remains to be seen—but the possibility is now clearer than ever.
