The win not only kept their perfect record intact, but it also solidified their chances of keeping their spot in Group G.
In a post game interview, Philippines’ Meryll Serrano stated her thoughts before their affair with Cambodia.
"To be honest, we watched Hong Kong against Cambodia. I was actually quite nervous for this game when we got the first and second goal, I thought we were doing good," said the midfielder.
"I mean, it’s been a good two games now and I think we just have to keep going. We have one more game against Hong Kong and we really wanna go and get all the points." she added.
The Filipinas were locked in throughout the game, staying aggressive on the offensive end to smash in their first goal near the 18th minute mark courtesy of Alex Pino followed by Serrano’s goal after a restart to pull off with an early 2-0 gap.
In the 36th mark, Serrano landed another goal from the midfield as the unattentive Cambodian goalkeeper found herself helpless as she tried to keep the ball out of the net, 3-0.
Coming off a 4-goal lead in halftime, Angie Beard set up a beautiful long pass to Filipina Skipper Hali Long to bang another goal and widen the gap to 5.
Carleigh Frilles gifted a sweet cross to Chandler McDaniel who joined the scoring party, adding up a point for a six-point lead.
After a victorious night for the Philippines, the Filipinas looked more eager to complete a perfect campaign with a win over Hong Kong on Saturday in the same venue.
