Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said that the national government will only implement General Community Quarantine (GCQ) and Extended Community Quarantine (ECQ) under the new alert level system for COVID-19 response.
According to Roque, the IATF “provisionally” approved the guidelines for the implementation of the new alert level system.
The highest alert level, Alert Level 4, prohibits dine-in services and mass gatherings.
Furthermore, Roque said that all areas will implement the alert level system when the IATF has finalized its guidelines.
The pilot implementation of the new alert level system will be done in the National Capital Region (NCR), which is in Modified Extended Community Quarantine (MECQ) until September 15.
