Former Senator Bongbong Marcos will run for 2022 national elections, his camp confirmed Wednesday.

In an interview over ANC, Marcos’ lawyer Atty. Vic Rodriguez made the confirmation.

This, was after the Supreme Court, serving as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET), unanimously junked the electoral protest filed by the former lawmaker against Vice President Leni Robredo over the 2016 vice presidential race results.

In a media briefing, SC Spokesman Brian Hosaka said the tribunal unanimously voted to junk the protest, nearly five years after its filing on June 29, 2016.

The court also dismissed the counter-protest filed by Robredo.
