Malacañang on Tuesday respects the Supreme Court’s decision to dismiss the electoral protest filed by Former Senator Bongbong Marcos against Vice President Leni Robredo.

Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, however, said it respects Marcos’ option to appeal.

“‘Yan ay desisyon ng Kataas-taasang Hukuman. We respect that,” Roque said in a press conference in Davao City on Tuesday.

“We respect also that the camp of (former) senator Bongbong Marcos has a further remedy of moving for reconsideration,” Roque added.

Robredo won the 2016 vice presidential race against Marcos with 263,473 vote lead.

However, Robredo’s lead increased by 15,000 due to manual recount in three provinces chosen by Marcos — Iloilo, Negros Oriental, and Camarines Sur.

In 2018, President Rodrigo Duterte said he will file a resignation if Marcos wins the protest against the Vice President.
