Amid the rise of speculations regarding President Rodrigo Duterte’s health, Malacañang on Monday insisted that the Chief Executive is “not sick.”

The rumors came after Duterte missed his national address last week and that the netizens have questioned his absence despite high reports of COVID-19 infections in the Philippines.

During his media presser, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque was asked why not Duterte who will announce the new quarantine classifications in the Greater Manila Area as the President’s mouthpiece got afflicted with coronavirus anew.

“Halos isang taon na nung ako’y bumalik, talagang ako ang naga-anunsyo nyan except lang kung yung simula ng buwan coincides with the Talk to the People on a Monday,” Roque said.

Over the weekend, to put an end to the looming speculations, Duterte’s former aide and now Senator Christopher “Bong” Go released some photos on social media showing the President riding a motorcycle, walking around, and playing a game of golf inside the Malacañang Complex.
