“See you on election day. Taumbayan po ang magdedesisyon diyan.”

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque had this to say in response to opposition coalition 1Sambayan after it said that the Duterte-Duterte tandem will be rejected by Filipinos in the 2022 elections.

“Malalaman lang natin ang desisyon ng taumbayan pagkatapos ng eleksyon, kaya dapat magka-eleksyon tayo,” Roque said in a media briefing on Monday, June 7, wondering why opposition groups are claiming themselves as “people’s spokesperson.”

“Kung titignan niyo ang surveys, wala pa pong limang porsyento ang hindi sumusuporta sa ating Presidente. So mag-ingat po tayo. Bagama’t sinasabi nating kayo ay boses ng taumbayan, baka boses lang kayo ng isang barangay,” he added.

The Duterte-Duterte tandem has surfaced anew after the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-LABAN) adopted a resolution seeking for President Rodrigo Duterte’s vice presidential run in the 2022 polls.

Meanwhile, during a television interview, Albay Representative Joey Salceda said that Davao City Mayor and presidential daughter Sara Duterte-Carpio will run as president next year and the latter is “going through the process of building alliances.”
