Israeli content creator and Nas Academy founder Nuseir Yassin issued a statement clarifying issues on the alleged Whang-Od Academy scam, saying that the course was consented by the family.

“We pitched her family the idea of creating Whang-Od Academy. Her and her family present both loved this idea, and have worked WITH US to build it, with Whang-od teaching herself,” Yassin stated on a Facebook post.

Yassin added that Whang-Od’s trusted niece Estella Palangdao translated the contract to her prior to the contract signing, signifying the consent of Whang-od and her family.

“This is the clearest evidence that it is not a scam,” Yassin said.

The content creator also explained that most proceeds from Whang-Od Academy “went directly to her [Whang-Od] and her family”.

The alleged Whang-Od Academy scam blew up after the traditional tattoo artist’s grandniece Gracia Palicas exposed Nas Academy on a now-deleted Facebook post.

Along with Yassin's statement, the Nas Academy on Facebook also uploaded a video of Whang-Od affixing her thumbprint to a contract which, according to the academy, signifies her consent to the project.
