Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque on Wednesday, slammed anew critics by calling them “epic failure” upon the alleged purchase of overpriced personal protective equipment (PPEs) of Duterte’s administration, September 1.

In a press briefing, Roque pointed out that President Rodrigo Duterte will not run for the 2022 polls and the administration was quite busy doing their jobs on their positions.

“Desperado po ang oposisyon; gumagawa po ng isyu laban sa administrasyon maski hindi naman po magre-reelection ang ating Presidente,” he stated.

Roque then struck a remark upon recalling what they did during their part in the 2019 local elections.

“Pero siguro ginagawa nila ito para hindi ma-Otso Diretso ang kanilang mga senador,” he said.

Otso Diretso, was a senatorial slate formed by an opposed wings faction after the first three year term of the Duterte administration.

According to the 1987 Constitution, the bicameral legislature in the Congress of the Philippines, must consist of a Senate and a House of Representatives. However, the Otso Diretso failed to get the seat on one of the chambers of the government during the 2019 local elections. Alongside, with the 1938 election, in which opposition candidates failed to get a seat during the legislative poll.

“Duterte critics and senators Franklin Drilon and Risa Hontiveros are both allies of the said previous administration.” Roque stated.

‘Wag po kayong magpadala sa mga politiko na maagang pamumulitika,” Roque added.

Duterte has recently said that he would vie for the vice presidential bid of the 2022 national elections.
