Presidential aspirant and former senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. seemed to have embraced his supporters' favorite phrase as he urged Filipino voters to respect each other's decisions for the 2022 national elections.
Marcos mentioned in a statement on Sunday that there are hostile exchanges among supporters of rival candidates on different social media sites.
"There is no reason for us to fight with one another over whom to support in the coming elections. Let's respect each other's freedom to choose. My response to hateful speech has always been to maintain a dignified silence because bickering is a waste of time,” he said.
The late dictator’s son and namesake also called on people not to lose their morality as the election approaches, emphasizing that family and friendships are more important than any political beliefs.
Furthermore, the former legislator gave the public his usual advice and told them not to "lose sight of their goal of uniting the country and helping the people free themselves from the grip of poverty that has weakened his belief in himself."
