As his term nears end, President Rodrigo Duterte joked on his future job after June 30 this year: "Ang trabaho ko nalang ngayon, magtingin ng magandang babae."

Duterte said this in a speech on Thursday, May 19, during the digital innovation and modernization of the Philippine Post Corporation (PhilPost).

"Okay na ako [sa] tingin lang, hindi ako nag-aabduct, basta tingin lang kasi matanda na ako,” he however assured.

He additionally joked that although he is fascinated with women, he will never make a move anymore but will still appreciate it if women approach him.

“‘Wag kayong matakot kung magtitig ako sa inyo, hanggang titig lang ‘yan pero kung magpakilala ka, okay man. I would of course enjoy meeting… Alam naman ng asawa ko ‘yan kasi mahilig ako magtingin ng magagandang babae,” the President said.

Duterte is known for his puns on women, including his rape jokes. In an event in South Korea before, he kissed an OFW during his speech that made controversy in his administration.

On the other hand, the chief executive commended PhilPost for the innovation that they have accomplished in their institution, including a mobile app, a website, an automated letter sorting machine and postal cards. 

He said that the innovations would “boost global competitiveness and stimulate economic activity during the period of recovery and digital transformation.”

He also added that it would bring back the "integrity" of the office.

Although he confessed to being good-at-nothing in technology, the president is grateful that he has seen these technological changes on the verge of his administration.

“Pasalamat ako sa Diyos na inabot ko, binigyan pa ako ng ilang taon na makita ko ‘yung marvels of electronics and digital things. Pero ako mismo, oo lang ako nang oo, wala talaga akong alam on how it works,” he said.

Furthermore, the president narrated how the lousy performance of PhilPost victimized him, and pointed out that the Bureau of Customs (BOC) still has a worse problematic situation and urged PhilPost employees to help BOC "erase" corruption in their offices.

Duterte also thanked his avid supporters — the DDS — for making him experience the six-year presidency and rallying behind him the whole time, saying he has served the country, citing his infrastructure programs.

“Yan, maliit na bagay. Kung mag-expect pa kayo ng more, I’m sorry. Hanggang diyan lang ang kaya ko. Still, I am very grateful to you for making me the president of the Republic of the Philippines,” he said.
