"Hindi ko iintindihin ‘yung aking kaso. Hindi ko iisipin ‘yung kaso habang ako’y nagtatrabaho."

This was how Senator Jinggoy Estrada gave his word of assurance on Tuesday, emphasizing that his graft case will not influence his conduct as a public servant.

During an interview with ANC's Headstart, Estrada emphasized that it would not affect him in any way, mentioning how he also had a pending case before the Sandiganbayan last 2004, wherein he also won in a national election.

In relation to the pork barrel fund scam, Estrada had posted a bail amounting to P1.33 million for his cases of plunder and graft in 2017, wherein he was released after being in detention for three years.

Moreover, in 2001, he was involved in a plunder case together with his father, former President Joseph Estrada, in which he was then acquitted.

Despite this, Estrada won over the Filipino people as he secured a seat in the Senate, garnering approximately 15 million votes in the recently concluded elections.
